A short business meeting was
held. The club song, "Prayer
Perfect" was sung and salute
to the flag given.
Albert Wiesendanger, execu
tive secretary of the Keep Ore
gon Green association, Salem,
gave a talk and showed slides
of Oregon's forests and a col
ored film of the forest fire
hazard.
At the close of the meeting
he gave each member a sou
venier of an ash tray. Follow

Jordan Farm Union
Program Pleases
Lyons Members of Jordan
Farmers Union local meeting at
the Mt. Pleasant school voted
unanimously that the monthly
program service was outstand
ing in help to the educational
directors in helping new mem
bers to become acquainted with
the program of the Farmers
Union.
The members heard the panel
discussion on the Farmers
Union program. Participating in
the panel were John Silberna
gel, John Rohwein, Josephine
Thomas and Margaret Pietrok.
Laura Neal paid high tribute
to the work done by officers and
doctors of the health center In
her report of a special meeting
held in Salem.
Haskel Huntley has the honor
of bringing the first new mem
ber in the membership drive.
Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Hargreaves
are the new members. Mrs. Har
greaves will be the new educa
tional and recreation director.
A Christmas party was plan
ned for the next meeting, De
cember 16, with Mehama local
as guests, with a gift exchange.
Sou conservation district was
much discussed issue by John
Neal, John Silbernagel and
Haskel Huntley. Lunch was
served at the close of the meet
ing. Room Mothers Drop
December Meeting
Monmouth The monthly
meeting of the room mothers of
the Monmouth school was held
at the elementary school. Mrs.
Clifford Marsh, president, pre
sided and Mrs. Claude Winegar
was nominated secretary.
Mrs. Marsh read suggestions
on the main duties of room moth
ers. It was decided that hos
pitality was one to be handled
by the mothers. For the Parent-Teacher
meeting, Mrs. Hugh
Van Loan and Mrs. Miller served
on hospitality and Mrs. Millsap'a
room served the refreshments,
with Mrs. Miller as chairman.
The room mothers will not meet
in December.
