Bogey Girl Melee Victims
'Too Pretty' to Pull Stunt
New York, iept. 10 (U.B Assault charges brought by a pretty
model against movie tough guy Humphrey Bogart were thrown
out of court today.
New York, Sept. 30 !) Movie toughie Humphrey Bogart was
served with a summons charging simple assault Thursday for
dumping two New York glamour girls on the floor of the El
Morocco night club. He said he would see the girls in court.
The summons was served on Bogart in his suite at the St. Regis
Vinlel.
"I thought this was a tempest
in a teapot," he said. "But It
has grown Into a full sized hur
ricane. Sure, I'll appear In
court Friday. They tell me I'd
better or else. They send police
men after you, put you in Jail
and other bad things."
Bogart said he had no com
ment on the night club litdown
on which he allegedly gave the
girls an assist.
"I think they are both very
pretty. Too pretty to have to
do anything like this for pub
licity. So I don't know what
the score It. I'll tag along and
see."
Miss Roberts, a pretty bru
nette, said Bogart sent her
sprawling on K Morocco's plush
carpet early Sunday morning
when she playfully picked up a
large panda doll he had put in
a chair at hit table.
Bogart and Bill Seeman, a
playboy pal, had entered the
night club, eaeh carrying a pan
da doll. They seated the dolls
at their table and Introduced
them aa their "girl friends."
Bogey alleged shoved Miss
Roberts and PMT Rabe, a bank
er'! daughter, when the girls
playfully picked up the dolls.
In the melee that followed,
Miss Rabe's escort had some
crockery smashed en his shoul
der Mlaa Roberts' attorney aaid
she suffered a back Injury and

Bogart denied pushing Miss
Roberts. He said he and See
man were "sitting quietly at a
table when some dame I never
saw before tried to steal one of
the pandas on a bet or some
thing. So I wrestled the panda
away from her. 1 guess she
did fall down."
Mandel said Miss Roberts was
not Interested at the present
moment in bringing any damage
action against Bogart,
