lafter the late war, a number of
out of state purebred show
strings will be on hand to com
pete with Oregon livestock
breeders. This same situation is
true in the horse show classifica
tions.
Ben Newell, Marion county
farm agent, had a difficult time
allocating the stall and pen
space to a record number of ex
hibitors but reported to Man
ager Leo Spitzbart this week
that the job was finally done,
More sheep and swine than
ever before are entered in the
livestock show. Judging in all
livestock classifications will be
completed during the fair's first
two days, September 5 and 6.
A novel agricultural twist will
be lent by the air arrival of the
"Flying Farmers". ' 150 strong,
who will land on the grounds
early Tuesday morning, Sept. 6.
The group will fly in from Mc-
Minnville as a part of the ex
position's Farm Organization
day and will land in a 20 acre
patch of the fair's huge parking
area.
Meanwhile, representatives of
some of the 14 Oregon counties
to have display booths at the
fair, are already busy preparing
their space in the main agricul
tural building. Some of the out
side exhibitors of farm machin
ery and equipment have spent
several days thus far perfecting
their display areas. All commer
space has been sold out for sev
eral weeks.
