Angel hai hit the top again In Marion county's D.H.I.A. test ing. Number 24 produced 2579 poundi of milk during May which contained 121.2 poundi of butterat. Peter Mitchell of Mt. Angel, D.H.I.A. supervisor, made the teat and has confirmed the rec ord. Another cow In the 100 pound elaia la Sunbeam, a registered Jersey, In the Neal Miller herd of Woodburn. She produced 1910 poundi of milk and 101.7 poundi of butterfat in 31 days. C. J. Berning topped the coun ty herd average too, with 52. B pounds of fat for 23 cows. Sec ond In May were the 17 cows In O. A. Partons herd of Wood burn with 52.1 pounds. William Frith, St. Paul, was third with 61.7 pounds for 20 cows. Other herds among the top six were: Harry Stewart, West Stayton, 81.7 pounds fat average for 5 cows and H. C. Stuwe, Wood burn. 51.4 pounds with 13 cows Two herds tied for sixth place, Stephen Hemshors Ayrshire herd with 23 cows at Mt. Angel and Bill Shoonovers Jersey herd with 19 cows at Woodburn, each averaged 48.1 pounds of fat. One thousand seven hundred thirty-nine cows are now on standard test in 34 Marion coun ty herds, reports Ben A. Newell, county extension agent. Twenty one more herds are testing 333 cows on the owner sampler plan. Testing is now under the super vision of Peter Mitchell and Don and Leonard Chinn. No Heirs Found to Hermit's Estate ' Spokane, Wash., June 21 m No heirs have been found to claim $43,000 left by a hotel room hermit who died last May. ! Attorney Jack D. Freeman made this report in superior court on tht estate tt William Lane, 62. "This man was a hermit," Freeman said. "He lived in the same hotel room for 21 years. In all those years he never had a single caller. "His closet was crammed full of everything and in the back of it was a new steamer trunk. The trunk was packed with new clothing and everything looked as though he planned on taking a trip, but he never took one." The court appointed Mrs. Mabel Terry, manager of the hotel where Lane lived, to ad minister his estate in Washing ton. He had $20,000 In cash and bonds here an another $23,000 in three California banks.
