Lawrence Page of Mojave, Calif., watch him breathe oxy
gen in a Pasadena, Calif., hospital, two days after he ap
parently died from jerious traffic injuries. The youngster
stopped breathing for 10 minutes shortly after he was hit by a
car, but doctors revived him with a stimulant injection into
his heart. The parents are Mr. and Mrs. Francis M. Page.

Under the business session
one petition for degrees was re
ceived. An invitation was read
and accepted to visit Laurel
chapter at Canby on Thursday
evening, May 12, and an Invi
tation was read to a reception
by Kellogg chapter at Portland
May 26 for a grand officer. A
number of members are plan
ning to attend the golden anni
versary of Acacia chapter at
Stayton Saturday night, May 14

grand chapter, which opens the
evening of June 13 at Portland,

The dates for the school this
year are June 14 24 inclusive
This gathering of 4-H club mem
bers from the entire state of
Oregon is held annually in Cor
vallis at Oregon State College
The attendance usually numbers
about 1800 4-H club boys and
girls.
During the ten days that the
club members are on the campus
they attend class given by regu-j
Iar college staff members. Part
of their time is occupied with an
organized recreation program.
The boys and girls attending
from Polk county are sent on
scholarships provided by busi
ness firms and organizations in
the county, who sponsor these
I awards for 4-H club members.
