Catfish Appear on
No. Lincoln Beaches
While Salem fishermen were
bemoaning the lack of success
at the opening of the season Sun
day, fish eaters of the coast
were having all they wanted of
catfish which they "caught," of
all places, at several points
along the north Lincoln beaches
The catfish apparently went
astray from the fresh water at
Devils lake and started out to
sea. However many of them
were cast up on the beach with
the fishermen sharing the unex
pected catch with the gulls is
not known.
Pioneer coast residents claim
that this is the first time that
they had seen catfish, and thou
sands of them, tossed on the
beach sands.
