May 4. 1949 Group Aids Symphony Project a lnml committee to the maintenance fund for the Portland Symphony orchestra met last evening at the home of Mrs. George Schwarz to go over plans for activities here to aid the symphony cause. For several years Salem has been on the list of Oregon cities where the Portland Symphony has played, the organization presenting three concerts here this past winter. Every effort is being made now to assure that the symphony will be able to continue in these upstate con certs as well as with the home series in Portland.
