Man Whose Sex
Changed Shoots Self

girl to a boy at the age of 18,
hot and killed himself Wednes
day night. Coroner Charles Kei
fer reported.
Reid was convicted in April,
1947, of stabbing to death his
father, John, 51, in a drunken
argument.

First Public Showing of 1949

The first public showing here of the new 1949 Buick, which
was announced recently, will be held in the showroom of Orro
J. Wilson Co., local Buick dealer, tomorrow.
The new, distinctive styling of the 1949 Buick models is high
lighted by flowing full-length fenders, a lower, wider grille,
full-vision curved windshield
and rear window and functional,
chrome-ringed "venti-ports" on
front fenders for identification
and cooling purposes
Buick's 11 new models include
nine completely restyled Super
and Roadmaster cars. They are
lower, wider and roomier with
greatly improved visibility
through use of 22.8 per cent
more glass in sedan models.

Buick's unique "no-shift,
clutchless" D y n a I ' o w drive
transmission, introduced to the
motoring public last January,
will be standard on 1949 Road
master models and optional
equipment on Super series cars.

Special scries next year. Buick's
Dynaflow transmission dispenses
with the conventional mechani
cal clutch and the clutch pedal.

transformation at the age of 18.
Medical testimony substantiated
his story,

thorities declined to place him in
the Ohio penitentiary.
He committed suicide, the cor
