Newspaper Page Textlily Manager Plan Criticized Elmer M. Amundson, attorney member of the committee that has placed the commission rov ernment bill on the city ballot, charged Wednesday that the present managerial plan gives too much power to one man. Amundson, in an address to the Hollywood Lions club, con ceded that the city manager plan is one of the most efficient forms of city government, but at the same time one of ths most dictatorial. "There is just too much pow er delegated to one man," he said, "and the defenders of the plan can't prove that the man ager has saved any money for the city." Amundson rapped parking meters. The money from them, he said, is not used for traffic control as it Is supposed to be "but is pumped into the gen eral fund." He raised an objection to the sewer rental act, one provision of which assesses 65 cents a month against householders. He declared the sewer rental mat ter should have been voted on ' 'by the people, and said part of its proceeds went to raise the salary of the city manager. He accused the newspapers of charging that the commission committee is trying to repeal the city charter and ruin ths city government. Election Board Members to Meet County Clerk Harlan Judd is sending out postcard requests to all election board members in the county to meet at the main circuit court room in the courthouse October 30 at 7:30 p. m., to discuss election board problems. In the 92 precincts of the county there are 1730 election board members, including dou ble boards of five each in 81 of the precincts and single boards of five each in each of the other 11 precincts. The county court hasn't decided yet just where the meeting will be held if all of the 1730 should show up as the circuit court room will hold about an eighth of that number.
