Fourteen tables of "500" were
played at the card parly last
Sunday evening. The "500"
prizes were given to Alice Ro
finot, Mrs. C. J. Crosby, Mrs.
Anton Hanauska and Mrs. Ger
trude Jensen. At the 13 pinochle
tables, awards were won by
Henry Kirkwood, Mrs. Al Man
ning and William Brassel. Spe
cial awards went to Tony Cacka,
Jr., J. A. McCormick, and Mrs.
Lena Kelley.
Vermont's apple crop runs to
al least 365,000 bushels a year.
Klangs in Bellingham
Silverton Local friends have
had word from Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Klang and their son and
daughter, that they are located
at 2733 Iron Ave., Bellingham,
Wash. The Klangs were in
mercantile business here for a
number of years and have re
cently been in Washington to
be near the mother of Mrs.
Klang. They plan to eventually
return to the Silverton area
their message indicated.
