; be revived at the Stayton high
i school, a baseball game between
' alumnus and high school in
' the afternoon, a banquet in the
; evening to be served to over
400, followed by dance in the
' evening as well as a reception
at the Women's club house.
Committee heads selected and
accepting are: General co-chair-'
men, Angus and Marcille Ware;
program, Gwcneth Spaniel;
dance, Walter Bell; banquet,
Bula Smith; invitations, Jean
Darley; reception, Wilbur Les
ley; publicity, Edw. J. Bell;
balleting, Raymond Kerber and
Wilbur Porter. Athletic and
properties chairmen will be an
nounced later. Eunice Jordan has
accepted appointment as chair
man of the decorations commit
tee and has announced her com
mittee as follows: Clarence
Baldwin, Colleen Fehlen, Bob
O'Conner. Phyllis Freres, Ro
land Darby and Alice Keirsey.
Within the next two weeks the
other members of the various
i committees will be announced.
Advance indications assure
that there will be upwards of
500 in Stayton that day in the
interest of the Alumni associa
tion. Lyons
Pearle Crlbbs, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Joe Cribbs received back
Injuries while playing basket
ball on the Mill City team at
the tournament held at Aums
ville. He was taken to the Sa
lem Deaconess hospital where
it was found his injuries were
not too serious and he was able
to return to his home.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lindemann
hav purchased the old feed
store building and it has been
moved to the back of the lot,
where it will be remodeled into
living quarters.
' Mr. and Mrs. George Hub
bard have returned to their
home. They have been employ
ed at Crescent Lake, and Mrs.
Hubbard is laid up with a burn
ed hand which she received
when she slipped and fell on
the stove.
Merrill Brassficld is conval
escing at the home of his sister,
Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Madill of
Salem, following injuries he re
ceived in an auto accident.
August Stcinborn is visiting
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Oscar Naue. He is enroute to
his home In Wisconsin from
Klamath Falls.
Miss Margaret Ann and Joyce
Berry have relumed to their
home at Mabel after spending
the past three weeks at the
home of their grandparents, Mr.
nd Mrs. George Berry.
Ruby Nnue, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Oscar Naue, fell on a
milk bottle cutting her leg. She
was taken to a doctor where it
took 14 stitches to close the
wound.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Ransom
have remodeled their small
house next to the post office
and Mr. and Mrs. George Miel
kie will move in soon.

Youngstown, New York is
pending this week at the home
of her neice and nephew Mr.
and Mrs. Percy Hiatt.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kunklc
of Niagara have purchased the
Holver Johnson property west
of town and will move there
as soon as the Johnsons, who
have bought a place near Dallas,
can move.

social and brief business session.
New members accepted into the
organization were Mr. and Mrs.
Charles E. Wallace. Wallace is
an ex-army air corps member
and his wife was in the army
nurse's corps during the war.
They have purchased a farm on
route 3.
James Adams reported on the
state convention at Hillsboro,
giving the most important meas
ures passed there. Fire district
reports were given by Judson
Pratt, Reuben Nickol and Lewis
Judson.
The Marion county conven
tion will be held in Salem April
6, with hosts being Liberty, Ro
berts, Red Hills and Sidney
Talbot locals, members being
asked to bring salads and des
serts. Mrs. J. C. Adams reported on
the annual meeting of the Farm
ers Union Health association and
stated the by-laws have been
accepted and the board of di
rectors elected. An intensive
campaign is planned to speed up
the membership drive so the
construction may be started
soon.
Pre-Lenfen Revival
Service Ends Sunday

in Dallas and has gone to Long
view, Wash., to live with his

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Fenner
of Salem spent several days last
week at Cherry Grove with her
sister, Mrs. O. N. Burbank, and
family. Mr. Fenner recently re
ceived his discharge from the
army after spending three years
in Europe.
At a recent school meeting,
Mrs. Ruth Cuason was re-elected
primary teacher and Mrs.
Alice Murphy was re-elected as
the intermediate teacher for the
grade school.

Destroyed by Fire

of the belongings of Mrs. Nattie
Roten Murdock was completely
lost by fire Monday morning at
9 o'clock. Mrs. Murdock had
just put wood in her range, leav
ing for several minutes and
when she returned, her kitchen
was in flames. The Mill City
fire department was called out
but the fire had gotten beyond
control. The Red Cross is work
ing with the community to as
sist in re-establishing the family,
