Visiting at the home of Mrs. Edna Sloan were Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Neil of Lone Rock, where they were neighbors some years past. Mr. Neil is a cousin of Murray Wade, the well-known cartoonist. Visitors motoring in from Ho quiam, Wash., were Mrs. Mc Kay and Mrs. Hcgborn, who vert guests of Mrs. A. Gruber and Mrs. Clara Strandberg. Out-of-town guests at the home of Mrs. Mabel W. Cady were her sister, Mrs. Helen Har dy and daughter, Miss Carolyn Hardy of Alameda, Calif. They will stop also in Portland on their return trip, where they will visit Mrs. Mabel Simmons, Mr. and Mrs. Norris Merrill and Mrs. Hardy's sister-in-law, the for mer Florence Hardy, and other relatives and friends. Ray Bliven of the Bliven woodyards .will be called into the service September 18, and his twin brother, Roy Bliven, as sociated with him in the wood business in Auburn and Salem, is now stationed at Camp Bark ley, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Arm strong and family are prepar ing to move to Newport, where Mr. Armstrong will be employ ed in the mill. Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong have been connected with the Lloyd Lee poultry and hatchery concern in Auburn for many years.
