Sllverton Mrs. T. J. Houbal,
In charge of the knitting de
partment of the local Red Cross
rooms, is announcing that a lot
of material is on hand for navy
turtle-neck sweaters, and also
for refugee sweaters that will
be given to workers who desire
to do this work.
Mrs. G. E. Weatherill has
turned in 18 knitted sweaters
and Mrs. Helena Whitlock, 13
sweaters and two pairs of navy

with fingers and are difficult to
do. Many more could be used,

The Red Cross rooms are open
ed for the knitters each Wednes
day afternoon, when Mrs. Roubal
will be present to help those
wishing to call. With the sea

considerably. If possible, the

glad to receive the articles being
made from materials that have
been out of the rooms for sev
eral weeks.
Those who wish to donate to
the work are advised that there
is a call for buttons of brown,
maroon and navy blue, six but
tons for a sweater, for cardigan
sweaters. The size and type are
regular, but there must be six
of a kind.
Mrs. Roubal also announced
that 18 members of the drivers'
corps, of which the is In charge,
are finishing up their Red Cross
first aid requirements. The
members have had actual ex
perience in driving trucks and
are awaiting instructors from

out driving and Incendiary bomb
and gas control. There will be
no more regular Wednesday eve
ning meetings until It is defi
nitely known when the instruc
tors are available.
The members of the drivers'
corps distributed 115 public
proclamations, No. 10, Monday
to the business men of town,
having to do with limout rules.
