No. M-152. r Suver Residents Are Found in New Locations; Women Helping During Harvest Mr. and Mrs. Earl Anderson moved to their new home which they recently bought in Carlton Mrs. Eunice McClain and son. Bob are living with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Suver during harvest and Bob is harvesting the crop. The McClains moved out of the Wells area recently after the government bought their crop and farm. Ed Bose and family have bought a place near Peoria and have moved several loads of equipment there. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Conkey have installed a new. modern j soda fountain in their store and plan to also serve light lunches later. Army officers have inspected all the houses in the Valley View, community and some in other near communities and stated that all of the houses are to be lived in by army officers. Sev eral farmers who tried to buy their houses to move, were de nied the privilege. Philip Newman of Eugene who had spent the past two weeks with his uncle and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Suver, re turned to his home last week when his mother, Mrs. Loretta Newman and his grandmother came after him. Women in these parts are also doing their part during harvest. The Douglas girls, Mrs. Slock- hoff, Mrs. S. Benedict, Mrs. Amort, Mrs. Rutschman, Mrs. Haskins, Mrs. Harold Elkins and Mrs. Melvin Elkins have alt been helping. Some shocked grain and hay, some drove tractors and some sewed sacks. Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Waters and granddaughter, Carol Co hoon have moved to their new home in Dallas. Between trips when they were moving some boys, bent on mischief, entered the house and damaged and de stroyed a number of things. Lou Ann Haskins has return ed home after spending the past three weeks with her grand parents at Monitor. Raymond and Virginia Recker spent the past week on a vaca tion trip with relatives. E. G. Harris moved several loads of machinery and Imple ments this week to his recently acquired farm in Linn county. H. F, Couey is trucking baled hay to his farm near Corvallls, B. R. Douglas has been moving machinery and implements to his place east of Corvallls, this week. Mrs. Vern Goodell who under went a major operation in Salem' last week is recovering nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Don Shepherd and daughter, Paula Sue of Huntington are visiting several days at the home of Mrs. Shep herd's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Clipfell. Mrs. Anna Kecton went to Empire Tuesday where she will visit indefinitely with her daughter, Mrs. Ben Thompson. Miss Ruth Lyons who under went an operation in Portland was able to be brought to her home here Tuesday. She ex pects to be home a month be fore returning to her work in Portland. Herman Solsberg who former ly was employed at Knapton is employed as bookkeeper for the Mt. Jefferson Lumber company. He replaces Clay Gould who ex pects to leave soon for Vancou ver. Serra Members Stage Picnic Mt. Angel Serra club mem bers and their families from Sa lem, Woodburn and Mt. Angel, held a picnic at Hall's farm, near here Sunday afternoon. Games were played followed by a no host supper. Numerous members were un able to be present as their pro grams called for attendance at pre-arranged family gatherings elsewhere. Joseph L. Wachler of Mt, Angel and Fred Hecker of Woodburn were on the picnic committee. . The main purpose of the Serra club is to give financial assist ance to aspirants to the priest hood. The local club formerly had its headquarters at Portland but organized the "Serra club of the Willamette valley" at Salem about a year ago. E. B. Slolle of Ml. These envelopes may be had upon application at the post of fice. The letter is written or typewritten on paper which is mailed with the required amount of postage. When it reaches the army or navy post office it is photographed on mi crofilm which requires much less space in transfer. When it reaches the overseas ponit for which it is Intended; it is enlarged and printed on paper similar to that on which it was written. The original copy of the letter is kept until the microfilm has been enlarged and the letter printed. It is then destroyed.
