nual conference of the Western As
sociation of Private Schools at Mt.
Angel was one of the decisions of
this year's conclave held at Maryl
hurst college. Walter Poepplng, as
sociated students of Mt. Angel col
lege president was chosen tempor
ary secretary-treasurer, and Oliver
McClure were the college delegates
at the two day meet.
"Next year's president of the stu
dent body will automatically be the
secretary-treasurer of the W.A.P.S.
according to arrangements," ex
plained Poepplng on his return
from the conference.

Schools attending the association
meetings were Portland university,
Seattle college, Mt. Angel college,
Marylhurst, College of Great Falls,
Mt. Angel college and normal, and
Holy Names college of Spokane.
The W.A.P.S. was organized in
1839 with the first gathering held
at Seattle college. Gonzaga uni
versity acted as host school In 1940.
Purpose of the association is to
combine all the Catholic colleges In
the northwest Into an association
for the purpose of discussing school
problems and Catholic action

at Marylhurst were Gonzaga uni.
