Bearded Stars
To Battle Sox
Sllverton Beginning in a lighter
vein following the rather nerve
tensed wind-ups of the semi-pro
tourney of the past two and a half
weeks; will be the appearance on
McOlnnls field Tuesday, July 35, of
the Bearded House of David oppos
ing the Sllverton Red Sox, In a
night game beginning at 3:30.
The Davtdites are the greatest
traveling team touring tht United
State with the same "pepper game"
trto, Tucker, Tally and Anderson,
which is well worth the price of
admission.
They also play a bang-up game
oi oaseDau and are beaten very sel.
dom, having met the best of amateur
and professional ball clubs In the
United States and Canada,
The elongated John Tucker, with
his big mitt, is still playing first
base In major league style and has
been with the House fo David club
for It years. Andy Anderson, who
piays third base, has 13 yean' ser.
vice, and "Doc" Tally has spent 36
years with the organization.
Most of the Davldltes wear long
beards and some of them have hair
uiai reacnes to meir waists. The
club is no doubt the greatest base
ball attraction of all with Its comic
antics, good sportsmanship and big
league style or playing.
The House of David team wat
here two years ago and drew the
largest crowd In the state and will
really put on a night open-air show
mat is well worth seeing.
