I the scene of an Impressive ceremony at 10
JL. o'clock this morning when Miss Peggy Amort,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Amort of Mon
mouth, became the bride of Chester L. Fritz, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Frits of The Dalles.
Father John J. Reedy officiated in the presence of
the two families. Miss Alena Bremmer played the
wedding marches. The altar was graced with peonies
and cathedral tapers.
The bride was given In marriage by her father.
She wore a model of powder blue crepe with Jacket,
Her accessories were of Parts and and she wore a cor
sage of Transvaal daisies.
Miss Margaret Amort of Salt Lake City was her
sister's honor attendant. She wore a smart model of
black and white with a small black hat. Her corsage
was of gardenias.
Ben L. Calloway of The Dalles was the best man.
Mrs, Amort, mother of the bride, wore a black
ensemble trimmed with dusty pink, and a corsage
of Cecil Brunner roses. Mrs. Fritz wore a Spring print
and a corsage of seasonal flowers.
A wedding breakfast followed at the Golden Pheas
ant. Mr. and Mrs. Fritz left directly afterward for
San Francisco and other southern points. Upon their
return they will be at home In Salem.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Fritz have been active mem
bers of the capital's younger set. Mrs. Fritz attended
Oregon Normal school. Mr. Fritz attended the Uni
versity of Oregon and is a member of Sigma Nu fra
ternity. He Is connected with the Secretary of
State's office.
Delta Gamma alumnae will be entertained Mon
day evening at the home of Mrs, Silas Galser, 825
North Winter street. Assisting Mrs, Galser will be
Miss Esther Wilcox and Mrs. Vivian Bartholomew.
All Delta Gammas are Invited.
Chapter O, P.E.O. Sisterhood, was entertained
with a dessert luncheon by Miss Sylvia Leonard at
the home of Mrs. J. J. Nunn Thursday afternoon. A
special Mother's day program was presented and
Mrs. Earl Cooley, accompanied by Mrs. Gordon Find
lay, sang a group of numbers. Miss Annette Lang
spoke concerning the W.P.A. nursery school.
Mrs. O. W. Laflar, who has recently . moved to
Portland, was feted with a kerchief shower.
Special guests were Mrs. A. M. Snyder of Corvallls,

N IMPORTANT wedding of early June will be
that of Miss Jane Fisher, daughter of Mr. and
.Mrs. Asa Fisher, and Joseph S. Harvey, Jr.,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Harvey of Portland.
The ceremony will be solemnized at 8 o'clock Saturday
evening, June 4, in Knight Memorial church.
The church choir will sing preceding the cere
mony. Miss Fisher has been an active member In
the choir. Rev. H. C. Stover will perform the cere
mony In the presence of the two families and an
assemblage of friends.
The bride will be given In marriage by her father.
She has asked Miss Cleo Rltner to be her honor at
tendant and bridesmaids will Include Miss Esther Gib
bard, Miss Jeryme Upston, Miss Marion Averlll and
Miss Jane Bellinger of Tacoma.
Mr. Harvey will have Robert Hart as his best
man and ushers will Include Paul Hauser, Robert
Utter, Talbot Bennett and William Miller.
A reception will follow In the reception rooms
of the church. Presiding at the serving table will
be Miss Ada Ross and Mrs. Ray Smith. A bevy of
young maids will assist In serving.
Later the couple will leave on a short wedding trip.

Miss Fisher Is being feted with a round of gay
affairs in the weeks prior to her marriage. She is
a member of the Spinsters and a graduate of Willam
ette university, where she was affiliated with Beta
Chi sorority. Her fiance Is also a graduate of Willam
ette and a member of Sigma Tau. He is now in busi
ness In Salem.
Mrs. R. B. Fleming will entertain the Merry-Go-Round
club at her home Monday evening. Cards

The Most Reverend Henry St. George Tucker,
presiding bishop of the Episcopal church, will be
honored with a luncheon at the Hotel Marlon Mon
day at 13 o'clock by St. Paul's Episcopal church.
Cherry Bud Camp, Junior Woodmen of the World,
held its semi-annual graduation exercises Tuesday
evening. May IT. Three Juniors were graduated,
Marjory Donaldson, Eleanor Pur cell and Clarke C,
Morton, Jr.
After the graduation the junior drill team, under
the leadership of the captain, Joan Donaldson, put
on a colorful drill.
A group of seventh and eighth grade pupils from
Keiser school, the most of whom are also Junior
Woodmen, entertained with a short skit entitled, "The
8ewtng Circle." Refreshments were served.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Archibald, who have been
In Central America for the past several years, are
expected to arrive In Salem next week to be guests)

remembered as Gertrude Ash by. Mr. Archibald has
been connected with the Bureau of Public roads In
construction of the Pan-American highway.

On of the features of the tenth annual flanc
revue being presented by Barbara Barnes at the high
school auditorium Thursday evening, June 9, la th
"Kiddle Kabaret." The scene opens on the Interior
of a night club during preparations for the opening
night. The acts ar rehearsing while the hostess,
portrayed by Joanne Thomas, grants auditions to
applicants seeking a career on the stage.
With the entertainment progressing smoothly sll
looks well for the opening until a gawky country girl,
Jean Holtzman, decides to enter the picture and reveal
her talent as a singer. A comic situation become
almost a tragic on when the hostess discovers, after
a close Inspection of clothing, that all Is not as It
should be. What develops must be seen to be appre
ciated but In due time the "Navy" arrives In the person
of Leland Hoar, a sailor boy, whose real ambition la
not to go on the stage although he would like that, too.
His pals, Bruce Moorhead and Cyril Hull, two sailors
with ambitions also for th stage, finally agree that
they like moving scenery better then walking the
streets. With the scenery all moved preparations ar
bout eompteta for the grand opening.
, ARAMOUNT event on next week's social cal-
) endar is the reception being arranged In comp
liment to Charles Val Clear, director of th
Salem Art Center, and his staff. The reception will
be an event of next Thursday evening, May 38, from
7:30 until 10:30 o'clock in the Chamber of Commerce
rooms. Salem folk and those from surrounding com
munities are urged to call and greet the art center
faculty.

chiffon with lace Jacket fashioned with leg o' mutton
sleeves. Her short veil will be caught in a Juliet

Mra. Gordon Hood (Brenda Savage) of Albany
will be the maid of honor. She will wear a gown of
blue chiffon designed with high neck, long sleeve
and embellished with a rose velvet sash.
Mr. Helen Pettyjohn Lamb will be the bridesmaid.
Her gown will be of apricot chiffon, made with flaring
skirt and short puff sleeves. Both attendants will
carry arm bouquet of pastel flower and wear gar
lands In their hair.

The altar will be graced with tall cathedral taper

The bride Is a graduate of Willamette university
and a member of Delta Phi. Mr. Ooode Is a gradual
of the Willamette law school and Is now practicing
law In Albany.

ning at the Deaconess Nurses' horn.
Several Salem folk will motor to Portland tonight
to attend the Empire day celebration at the Neigh
bors of Woodcraft hall. Southwest Morrison at 14th
street. The concert and dance is being sponsored
by the Associated British Societies.

The lodge session In the evening was given over
to plans for the lodge installation, which will be held
the event"., of June 1. Plana were also made for
trip to Oregon City, May 34, when that auxiliary
celebrates Its fourth birthday anniversary. Officers
and the drill team are to put on the Initiation cere
mony. The past presidents of the lodge have charge
' of the Installation ceremony with Mrs. Gussle Shaw
as chairman of the committee.
The Salem Business and Professional Women
club will meet for dinner at the Oolden Pheasant
Tuesday evening. Reservation should be made with
Miss Ruth McAdams. Miss Lois Steinke is in charge
of the affair and Miss Carolyn Wilson Is program
chairman. Rev. Robert Hutchinson will speak on
his year's residence In England and Ireland. Th
club chorus will sing.
