Vows To Be Said
In Bay City
Ot great interest throughout the
state is the announcement of the
Impending marriage of Miss Phyllis
Van Kimmell, of Ban Francisco,
daughter ol Mrs. Lillian Van Kim
mell ot Portland, and Raymond L.
Bell ot San Francisco. The cere
mony will be said in the Bay city
next Saturday at high noon. Mrs.
Donald Benjamin Hay (Martha
Stevens) will be the honor attend
ant and Maynard Bell will serve as
best man tor his brother.
A small reception will follow, aft
er which the couple will leave by
motor for a wedding trip in the
north. They will visit at the country
f place of Dr. and Mrs. Hayden
Walker near Salem and several af
fairs will be arranged tor their
pleasure by the capital's younger
set.
The bride, a grand niece of Dr
and Mrs. Walker's, attended the
University of Oregon and is a mem
ber of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Her
fiance also attended the university
and is a member of Phi Beta Kap
pa. He is now a San Francisco
newspaperman.
Active Club To
Sponsoi Dance
The Active club will sponsor
smart Informal dance in the mirror
room of the Marion hotel, Saturday
evening, June 1. Numerous addition
al guests, including many out-of-town
folk, are being invited. Many
cocktail parties and buffet suppers
will precede the affair.

thedral. A supper was served later

Aurora Miss Eleanor Jcskey was
hostess at a miscellaneous shower
Saturday honoring Miss Evelyn
Knorr. daughter of Mr. and Mrs,
Otto Knorr. The shower was given
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. wm
Jeskey. Several contests were play
ed, after which refreshments were

gon State Bankers' association will
convene in the capital Monday,
June 17. Interesting affairs are

for the entertainment of wives and
daughters who will be In the city
with the visiting bankers.

Organize
Silverton The organization of
women of the Silverton Country
club, known as the Ladies' Golf
club, held its first meeting of the
season all day Thursday, with Mrs.
R. B. Duncan and Mrs. Clifford Rue
as noon luncheon hostesses for the
eighteen present. At next week's
session, Mrs. Robert Goetz and Mrs.
Claude Hampton will be social host
esses. A putting contest will feature
the playing then. No contest play
was entered Into Thursday.
