it. was some three years ago that
Wilfred first got the Idea oi pun
llahlng a newspaper, which was
started as the "Mickey Mouse Ad
vertiser," but which was shortly
changed to the "Junior Gazette." In
the issue of yesterday Its third an
niversary was celebrated, and in a
feature story Wilfred tells all about
how he started the paper and about
his experiences, so these need not
be repeated here. Some big news
papers of the east, the New York
Sun, for example, have taken note of
him and the Boy s worm oi cigui,
111., gave him quite lengthy notice.
The first Issue of young Hage-
dorn's newspaper was a sheet of two
columns, and six by nine inches. It
had a circulation of 1000. With tne
issue of April 2 this year, it was in
creased to three columns nine Inches
long and its circulation was 2000.
The anniversary edition of yesterday
was four columns of 12 Inches.
The young publisher does all the
work connected with the paper, so
licits all the advertisements and
writes all the news. But he doesn't
work all the time. He likes to fish
and play golf and puts In quite a
bit of time at these sports, in addi
tion to his regular Job he is advertis
ing manager for W. T. Rlgdon &
Son.
Lost summer, with his parents, he
went to Moscow, Idaho, for a vaca
tion with friends. While there he
connected up with the Dally Star
Mirror as assistant advertising man.
accr. When he came away he car
ried a fine letter of recommendation
from his employer.
To get a better word picture of the
youthful editor read his own story
In the anniversary number of the
Junior Gazette, published yesterday.
It Is very entertaining.
