Milady To Match
Winter Wardrobe
With New Suntans
Suntan and satin, suntan and cellophane, suntan and anything or
everything, is the vogue now and even though suntan might wane a bit,
it has staged a comeback that promises to enliven fall clothes. However,
to achieve a successful shade is anything but easy, for it must be the
rich brown-cream to enhance the sports' frock, morning frock, evening
gown and other smart modes for
late summer and fall.
Capital city society Is anticipat
ing the most brilliant winter season
in history and suntan will play the
stellar role in choosing milady s
new gowns. Instead of matching
hats and slippers, society will buy
that new shade of tobacco plug
brown to enrich the complexion,
likewise blues and other dark shades
that will add glamour to the ball
room, teas and luncheons.
Satin and black play the leading
roles in fabric and color in the style
show. Satin is sleek and sophisticate
ed and black is more than smart
for fall and winter. Travelers are
buying suits and the ever popular
beret that displays a new side-forward
tilt, a back peak and runs par
allel in preference with the narrow'
brim sailor.
Wood shades are being shown In
the back-to-school clothes and cam.
pus frocks display a new tunic mo
del that may be worn for vacations
now and to college later.
Hair ornaments are stressed for
fall. Bracelets are an important ac
cessory and a smart new trick is to
pin a corsage on your evening hand
bag.
Bathing suits are. still brief and
clever models are royal blue. And
through all the fashion parade runs
the theme song of suntan and dark
colors that will add a bit of interest
to any woman's lazy summer day
when she thinks of fall and the
galaxy of gay times ahead. We
women folk seem to "Do Our Part."
