HIGH SCHOOL
GRADUATES TO
NUMBER 320
The largest senior class In the
history of SaJem high school will be
graduated Friday, June 3, R. W.
Tavenner, assistant principal stated
Wednesday In announcing the
names of students who have signi
fied their intention of completing
their work. While the actual list
totals 313,' Tavenner says there are
enough others, whose credits are
yet to be further checked, to bring
the iota up to 320. This number will
be graduated providing the student
complete the required amount of
work as outlined.
While he believes the list Is com
plete, Mr. Tavenner says someone
may have been overlooked, especial
ly those who finished their work In
mid-term. If such Is the case, he
wishes to git In touch with them.
The graduation exercises will be
held in the Elslnore theater. As yet
no speaker has been announced.

LIME BUYING
SCHEME GIVEN
State taxing and agricultural
authorities are considering an in
stallment plan to allow Oregon
farmers aid In buying lime.
"A proposal has been presented
that farmers be allowed to buy lime
on credit except for transportation
charges,' said State Director of Ag
riculture Max Cehlhar.
"By this plan, farmers would buy
what Is required and have the
amount added to their tax rolls.
The cost would be distributed over
a period of five years and collected
with taxes.
"The plan Is now being considered
by farmer organizations to deter
mine popular reaction to the pro
posal. Proponents of the plan argue
that it would give a chance for
farmers beset by financial difficul
ties to maintain their fields In
profitable condition. Lime is re
quired only about once In 10 years.
"No state funds such as formerly
appropriated for vse by the defunct
lime board are available. During
the existence of the board almost
$50,000 was appropriated for use of
the board.
