the homecoming luncheon for the
Willard club at the Waldo HI 111
community hall Thursday nvon.
Following the luncheon some
time was spent in visiting inform
ally and then the president, Mrs.
Fred Knight, called the group to
order and past presidents of the
club spoke.
The first speaker was Mrs. C. C
Geer, who was the organiser and
the club's first president. Mrs. Geer
said that the club ' was organized
on Just such a windy, stormy day
as this on November 30, 1913." Ste
went on to tell that the other offi
cers elected at that time were vice
president. Pearl Eyere, now of Sa
lem; secretary, Mrs. Maude Hab
erly, of The Dallas; Mrs. L. V. Hab
erly, deceased; Mrs. Will King and
Mrs. Maude Haberly drew up the
first constitution. Mrs. Oer also
drew the attention of members to
the fact that this was the first
rural club organized In Marion
county.
Other former club presidents who
xpoke were Mrs. Will Egan of Sll
verton; Mrs. Karl Haberly, Mrs.
David Remseyer, Mrs. E A. Fin
ley, Mrs. Adam Hirsch, Miss Olive

number of familiar songs. Mrs.
Edson Corns lock was at the piano.
Ruth Geer, whose Infancy was
spent with the club's Infancy, sang
two solos. "Ths Road of Used To
Be", and "Little Chink "; Mrs. Oeer
and Mrs. Corns toe k gave a piano
duet; and the afternoon closed with
the singing of "Ould Lange 8yne."

China, he said, can accept no pro

his readiness to accept the league's
supervision to see that China's mea
sures of security were effectively

Sze declared. China means to avail
herself of "every right and every
article of the covenant."
