ot $157,482 the situation as far as
a tax levy Is concerned, will about
equalize Itself. The drop In assessed
valuation was due to a court deci
sion wiping the national banks off
the tax rolls. -
The whole county tax. as shown
by the tentative budnet, this Includ
ing however, only schools and coun
tv activities, will be $348,714.05. This
Is an Increase ot $35,493.10 over. last,
year, due to the atdded cost oi nign
school, transportation and also an
Increase In the high scnooi tuition
fund because of added pupils. How
ever, a decrease of $5690 Is shown
in the county school fund allocated
at a rate of $10 a pupil because of
a drop in the census iM? of 669 pu
pils Bnd the library fund also drops
$56.90.
The mail fund will also show a
decrease as the court cut down the
general road fund from $138,000 to
$135,920. Tile IUna ior roaus. uriu-
and ferries was left at $175,000,
and the match money for market
road fund from the state at sid.uuu
making a total road fund oi
920 as compared to $388,000 last
year, or $2080 less. Another de-
also recorded In the
budget in the matter of market
road bonds. The total In principal
and interest to. be paid for uieir
retirement this year will be $103,700
as compared to $106,750 last year,
or a cut of $2337.50. This will be
the seventh payment on the $850.
000 market road bond fcsue with
payments still to be maae in iwi,
1932. and 1933 when the issue will
be cleaned up. '
An analysU of the budget fur
ther shows the following Increase
Hated: delinquent tax foreclosure,
$3000; emergency fund $4250; court
hou.se alteration, $6243.60; Justice
court. $397; Juvenile court, $150;
sheriff. $345; treasurer. $124; sur
vey, $445; bounty on gophers. $100;

lows: registration and election,
$340; circuit court. $450; county
court and commissioners. $600; re
corder, $264; coroner, $50; Insane,

ent mothers. $900; poor, $300;
indigent soldiers. $500; county
herd inspector, $900; Indemntiy for
slaughter of cattle, $260. It will
be noted in these decreases the
court did not spare Itself as it
slashed from its own fund $600.
The budget for health work re
mains the same as submitted to
the budget committee as does the
budget for advertising both for
count v and state.
Members of the budget commit
