At Club Bridge Tea
Thirty-one tables of bridge were
In play at the Woman's clubhouse
yesterday afternoon when the 8a
lem Woman's club . sponsored a
benefit bridge In connection with
the eight booth bazaar. Prizes for
high bridge scores were won yes
terday by Mrs. Ray Hartman, Mrs.
B. B. Flack, Mrs. J. H. Wlllett and
Mrs. A. C. Nelson.
Prizes were presented by Mrs.
George L. Forge who with the as
sistance of Mrs. Charles E. Strlck
lin, served as general chairman of
the entire affair.
Tea was served by a committee
headed by Mrs. - Milo Rasmussen.

Harvest Home
Festival Tea Friday
The women's home missionary so
ciety of the First Methodist church
will be hostess on Friday afternoon
from 2 to II o'clock at the annual
harvest home festival In the Old
People's home on Center street. All
church women of the city are In
vited to take part In the affair and
to bring donations of vegetables
and fruits, fresh and canned for the
home.
At present 35 old people are mak
ing their home permanently In the
Center street home. It is maintain
ed by the Methodist church with the
assistance of outside contributions
as well.
Mrs. R. C. Glover is -chairman
of the program committee for the
harvest home on Friday afternoon
Mrs. I. L. McAdams Is chairman of
the tea committee.

Forty-two members of the Bar
aca Phllathea class of the Calvary
Baptist church were entertained on
Monday evening by Miss Nina Mc
Nary In her home. A musical pro
gram was enjoyed during the eve
ning. During a short business
meeting Stanley Walker was elect
ed president of the class; Miss Alice
Zelkle was named vice-president.
Mrs. White, secretary and Mr. Du
mas, treasurer.
Lunch was served late In the
evening with Mrs. Ross at the serv
ing urns. The Misses Alice Ztelkte,
Zelda Harlan and Edwlna Baker
assisted with the serving.
Special guests of the class were
Rev. and Mrs. Earl Cochran, and
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gregg.

tonight at a turkey dance In the
ball room of the local temple;
Dances are planned for each fort
night during the winter months.

Etokta Club Tea
For Farm Home
Members cf the Etoka club were
hostesses at a silver tea yesterday
in the J. Ray Pemberton home, on
South Commercial street for the
benefit of the Children's Farm Home
at Corvallls. Offerings during the
afternoon totalled more than $14.
An Interesting talk on the work
of the farm home was given dur
ing the early afternoon by Mrs. C.
P. Bishop, one of the directors.
Musical numbers included vocal
solos by Mrs. Mason Bishop and
piano numbers by Mrs. Bemlce
Clark-East and Rachel Pemberton.
Mrs. E. C. Van Slyke presided at
the serving urns arranged on the
