demonstrated that busses can be
profitably at 5 cent fares In Salem
and parties are willing to operate
at this fare I would say put up a
good bond as guarantee and pro
ceod. Our writer tells the police
to keep their eyes closed and havo
a wide open town and Increase
our population to 200,000. Not me,
If this theory Is good then why not
abolish our police system, schools
churches and street lights and sot
our goal at a million. I should vote
against raise in salaries but would
favor more lights and the paving
of 17th street to the fair groundi
if finances would permit.
