Legion Tickets For
Armistice Day Go On
Sale Here Tomorrow
Ticket sale for the Armistice
Day celebration in Halein on Wed
nesday, Nov. 11, will begin to
morrow morning, it was announc
ed today by American Legion mem
bers who have charge of the plans.
Twelve thousand tickets have been
printed, and a atrong: effort will
be made to sell them all tomorrow.
"This year we figure overybody
as a prospect to buy tickots, aald
Biddy Bishop, chairman of the
committed, this morning. "Hereto
fore we have Just sold tickets to
a dance, or something like that.
Some people don't dance, and some
who do weren't able to because
there wasn't room. This year every
body will be able to take In some
attraction on his tickets."
A ticket will admit the bearer to
the Willamette-Albany college
football game. to be held on Sweet
land Field at 9:15 o'clock In the
forenoon. Another will admit to
any of the three moving picture
houses, Ilellig, Oregon or BUgh, In
the city. Another will admit to
the Salem-lSugena high school
football game In the afternoon. An
other will admit to either the dance
at the armory or the Crystal gar
dens In the evening. "Everybody
will be able to use his ticket for
something," says Bishop. "Many
of them will want to buy several
of them."

The American Legion gets one-
half of the price of each ticket to
pay expenses of the Armistice Day
celebration and to add to the legion
treasury. The remaining 60 per
cent of the proceeds from ticket
sales Is to be paid the manage
ments of the various attractions to
which purchasers of tho tickets go.
Further details of the Armistice
Day celebration will be announced
later, Bishop says.

bombarded three villages near
Damaeua last Wednesday In re
prisal for acts of brigandage.
The French estimate that 1200
people were k'lled in the bom
bardment incidental to the sup
pression of the recent Insurrection

found dead tn the streets, the trav
eler asserts, as additional bodies
to the number of 440 were disco v

than November 17. The three men
were "tried at the laat term of
court and the jury disagreed after
Joe Walker, upon whose place the
mammoth still was found which
It Is alleged Andrews, Dickson and
Johnson operated, was convicted.
Critchlow states that he Is en
gaged In trial work In Portland
which precludes his getting here
earlier and he agrees in the motion
not to raise the question that the
defentdants have not been tried In
time or during the term In which
they were indicted.
District Attorney Careon stated
that the motion was agreeable to
him and that In all probability No
vember 17 will be the date the trial
starts.
