The Chamber of Commerce is in
receipt of a number of copies of a
pamphlet issued by the Mt. Angel
Community club aetting forth ad
vantage of the Mt. Angel section.
carrying photographs of the col
lege, academy and normal,, the
creamery and ice company, the ice
and produce company and also i
cut of a model dairy barn at Mt
Angel.
The pamphlet shows that the
producers packing company pack
ed 25.818 cases in 1922; 42,476
cafes In 1323, and 2d. 600 cases in
1324, these all being frulta and
berries. The amount paid for fruit
in 1922 was 39S.420, for labor In
1323, $14,616, and over 1400.000
haa been received for goods since
the Inception of the cannery. From
30 to 90 people are employed in
the cannery during the five months
of the year which it operates. The
circular states that without addi
tional machinery the plant could
pack 200 ton3 more of berries each
yea r.
