Bellcfunte, Pa., Oct. 12 The
frantic scorch for Charles Amen,
air pilot who disappeared 10 days
ago, ended Sunday ou Nittanny
mountain, six miles northeast ul'
Bellofon:e, when the body of the
bird man was found In his wreck
ed 1)1 u ii e, which had crashed
against Hie side of the mighty
bill.
A party of searchers, one of the
thousands who tramped the hills
ind valleys since Ames was re
ported lost, came upon the wreck
rc Into in the morning. A mow'
body, hearing only a few bruises,
svns found In the cockpit of the
Oiip. The body, lifted from the
soekplt, was liroufiht to nolle
fonte and tik n to an undertak
ing establishment.
Death Instantaneous. Belief
That Ames met Insluut dualh
was the belief of the alr-mall of
ficials. Ills fact was badly hrus
?. but the body contained few
otlur marks.
... The point where Ames crashed
!s densely wooded. It was evident
that the pilot, flying low, crash
?d into (he four trees, the pl.ine
!omini; to n stop against the trunk
if a fifth. The trees closed In up
:n the wreckago, making It Im
possible for the airmen who have
lenrcbed this entire region to lo
cate the spot where Ames met
lentil.
Ames was on his cnurso ami
was near the Ileicla light, bea
con for airmen, when he met his
fate. Over the point where IiIh
body rented In the debris airmen
have passed each day, flying east
and west with their cargoes of
mail for New York and Chicago.
Shipment of Mail Sale
The shipment of mail In Ames'
plane was Intact, and shortly af
ter It was removed from the
wreckage It waa on Its way west
in a plane piloted by F. It. I till.
Nature conspired to keep the
fate of the birdman unknown, for
when the wrecked ship of the nlr
was found It was discovered that
four kings of the forest, broken
off when the piano crashed Into
them, had formed a perfect cov
er. Under ttmse four big trees,
completely shrouded, rested the
wreckngo containing the pilot's
body.
Word of the find spread thru
the mountains like wildfire, and.
within n short time hundreds of
pcarrhewi, together with nlr mall
officials from the Bellefonte field
were on the scene.

Germs by the millions breed in it.
They, with tartar, are the common
