Montreal, Que., Aug. 25 An en

Altogether sixty one families

New York. Aug. 25 The Pirates
were generally regarded today as
the next champions of -the National
league. They have left New York
after taking four out of five games
in a crucial series with tho Giants,
thereby almost making the pen
nant certain.
Only 32 games remain to be
played by McG raw's entry, while
tho Corsairs have 38 and a long
stretch at home. i
Tho final brow dealt New York !
yesterday by tho Pirates, 9 to 2,1
not only left the Giants six games
behind first place, but found their
defense almost wrecked. Tho In
ner works cracked In the fifth.
An Infield fly went for a sacrifice
as Cuyler stole home while Jack
son held the ball. Three errors
wero made on easy chances.
As Pittsburgh retired, the Giants
looked down the standing and
Cincinnati coming along only two
ind one half games behind.
Washington and Philadelphia
separated by only a single game at
the top of the American standing,
both wore belted in tho west yesterday.
The leading Senators lost to De
troit, 4 to 13. Three Washington
box men were shelled by 13 hits
by tho Tigers. Manager Eddie

Shanghai, China, Aug. 25. (A.
P.) Inquiries as to the where
abouts and welfare of the eight
British missionaries kidnaped by
Chinese band.ts on August 6, have
thus far been fruitless. The party,
including Bishop Mondell of To
ronto, and five women, were tak
en while at a holiday resort but
details of their capture are lack
ing. They are being heVd by bandits
in the province oi ozechwan where
communication facilities at pres
ent are very unreliable. It is said
here that the captured missionar
ies were among those warned by
the British consulate to leave
Szechwau during the recent trou
bles.
(Advices from Munlwang to the
London offices of the church rais-
aionary society laat week said all
the members of the captured par
ty were reported to be safe and
receiving good treatment from
their captors.)

T7HEN you get a set of artificial
" teeth there is but one 'thing worth
considering, nnd that is satisfaction. A
cheap set, made on tho factory plan,
will cause endless worry,' embarrass
ment and suffering. Plates that do not
fit are little better than no teeth at all.
In offices using the'E. R. Farkcr
System arc skilled dentists who make
artificial teeth exclusively. They do
this work cxceptionally .'vveU because
they specialize upon it. The plates they
make aro guaranteed to fit and to wear
for years.
Particular skill is employed to mnke artificial teeth look
natural, and to fit so comfortably and snugly that you can
cat and laugh and talk without revealing that your natural
teeth are gone.
The price for these satisfactory plates is moderate. You
are invited to call and have an examination of your mouth
made without charge.
