George B. Guthrie of Portland,
owner of the new theater which
is being erected on south High
street, was in Salem this morning
nnd stated that he will bo willing
to build a special row of seats n
the theater for the Longfeliows
"if they will guarantee to beep it
filled up." They can sit on tha
front row, anyway, he said. An
aisle will run parallel with the
rows ot seats, making a conven
ient front row at that point as
well as at the extreme front ot
tho room.
"We also want to get some par
ticular clothier in Salem lined
up," said Dr. Bates this morning.
"Get somebody who is willing to
make a specialty of clothes for
tall men, and then let It become
known among our members that
they can get their clothes there.
It will be a good thing for him
as well as for us."
