CYGOLS TO PLAY
tomorrow afternoon the Salem
Senators will crows nuts with the
strong1 Cycol nlno of Portland on
the local diamond In what la
pected to be the hardest fought
buttle of the year for the locals.
The Cycol team has completed a
very enviable .season by winning;
the Greater Portland league cham
plonshlp with 13 wins and no Ioskcb
Tiie Cycols have the cream of the
players in and around Portland
and have taken some of the strong
cat teams there Into camp. Some
of tho Cycols are almost ripe for
the coast league.
Tho locals are determined to
dive them a hard battle, however,
and the local ball fans arc in for
a treat when tho two teams line
up. Salem won the championship
of the Inter-State league and the
two champions will have some ideal
of the strength of the other it" they
have a championship tournament
of the champioiM in Portland this
fall. Every year the champions of
the different leagues fight It out
and It might be the locals and Cy
cols for it.
Joe Hnrr and Bill Steers will not
be with the locals the rest of the
reason. Both of these players re
signed after the close of the lea
gue season. Steers big bat will be
missed considerable but Schack
man will very likely fill hie shoes;
to perfection. He has only played
one game with the Senators so far
this aeiiflon but mudo an auspicious
entrance when he got a homer and
doublo tn two times at bat. Ban-
will not be missed as he has not
been connecting with the ball as he
should. In (he last few games he
struck out time after time with
men on bases when the runs were
needed. Edwards has only kept
Burr In the lineup so far as he
thought he might get hurt and need
another catcher. With Maples who
showod up well in tho game with
the Legion team lost week it seem
ed unnecessary to keep him.
CoIema(n could be shifted to third
In the event of an Injury to Ed
wards and the team would not be
akened any at the hot corner.
Coleman Is a very versatile plnyer
being able to do mot anything
from "water boy" tip.
Edwards Is not sure who he will
start on the mound for the locals
although he things that It will be
Ashby who has made a good show
ing in the last few starts. With
Schuckman, Reinhart and Cole
man in the outfield the locals will
have some good fly chasers. Quia
enberry will also be with the sena
tors. The lineup will be the same
with the exception of the change in
the outfield. Tomorrows game
will start at the usual time.

If It Is to Be Efficient
the mortuary establishment
must be really homelike, for if
the cheery, uimfoi table atmo
sphere of the priv.it? resi
dence is absent, then the
funeral parlors cannot ;cive
their purpose completely.
It is for this reason that we
have taken great care to make
our establishment a place
where all who call upon us will
feel instantly at home and at
case.
