Tonight the American Legion
Lascball nine, winners of the Twi
light league championship for the

the Heckert nine of Corvallis on
the Oxford park diamond. The

The Legion nine has a strong
aggregation and they promise to
make the going rather rough for
the visitors although nothing to

set-back during the regular sea

Knights of Columbus team. The

Bankers for second place and the

cial.) Silverton went a -soar! us
Thursday nif-iuius- Jlcports were
circulated to the effect that the
big Weyerhauser Lumber com
pany had purchased the Silverton
Lumber company mill at Bilver
lou. l'j'en tbu details were work
ed out.. The mill was to be com
pletely rehult and enlarged. The
"stampede" was, however, short
lived, as the Silverton Lumber
company -denied all knowledge of
such a deal being closed.

by Boy Scouts under the leader

by Kdgar Irish, first, and Philip
Richardson, second. Nino boys
competed. The maps are on dis
play nt the Cooltdge and McClaine
baud and are very cleverly done.

tion of Silverton.
Chris Hansen and his two
daughters, Nora and Grace, and
his nephew, Alfred Nelson, who
havo been visiting at Silverton for
the past few weeks, left Wednes
day morning for California. The

and will visit at Cnlifornian towns

Hemmingford, Nebraska.
