Salem delegates at the state con
vention of business and profes
aional women held here last
month, gave brief convention re
ports In which they outlined
outstanding results of the state
meeting. They stressed tho plan
of a club bulletin whereby all of
the clubs of the state will be kept
Informed about various club ac
tivities, the placing of the pres
idents of all clubs on the execu
tive board, the raising of the na
tional dues, the greater represen
tation of local clubs In state af
fairs. The next meeting of the club, on
Wednesday, July 15, will be in
the nature of a picnic at the
home of Mrs. Blanche Isherwood
on tho Wallace road. Cars will
meet at the east end of the Ma-rion-rolk
county bridge between
five and six o'clock on the third
Wednesday afternoon.
Miss Maude Covington, city
librarian is vacationing In the
Puget Sound country. At present
he Is at an Inn in the Olympics,
ext week she will attend the
meetings of the American Library
association in Seattle, and she
will visit her family in Lewleton,
Idaho, before returning to her
work here.
Mrs. E. A. Colony arrived a
few days ago from her home In
Kirk, Oregon, to spend several
weeks In Salem.
Dr. and Mrs. B. h. Sleeves will
spend the Fourth of July week

home at Seaside. Aa their house
guests they will have their son in
law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
Paul Morse of Vancouver, Wash

green yesterday in addition to the
usual round of nine holes. Mrs.

quiet wedding on Tuesday morn

After a trip to the beaches for

Campaign
Reported.
At nn attractive tea given In
the Old People's home on Tuesday
afternoon the report of the Sun
bonnet campaign which has been
carried on for the past few months
by the home missionary societies
of the Methodist church in the
state was given in full by Mrs.
H. H. Vandevort, general chair
man. Mrs. Vandevort reported
that the campaign had netted
$2869.31 and there is a possibility
that with a few scattered districts
yet coming in the sum may bo
brought to $3000.
The tea was given In tho living
rooms of tho homo with the fol
lowing members of the board the
hostesses: Mrs. F". W. Selee, Mrs.
C. A. Clark, Mrs. J. A. Baker, Mrs.
P. J. Kuala, Mrs. A. Day. Mrs. W.
T. Itigdon, Mrs. A. C. Bohrnstedt,
Mrd. B. L. Steeves. Mrs. H. H.
