At laat night's meeting of the
local camp 31 applications wore
acted upon, making a total of 17G
secured during the past 90 days of
tbe Woodmen's membership drive,
end bringing the total member
ship of the camp up to 25.
Head camp officers from Den
ver, Colorado, vill all he present
at the state meet.
A general program was given tn
honor of the sister society to the
local W. O. W. camp lust night.
A group from St. Paul's Episcopal
church gav-3 a drama entitled,
"Ain't Women Wonderful," and
another entitled "Considerable
Courtship." The camp's seven-
piece orchestra gave several musi
cal numbers.

Paris, June 20 (By the Asso
ciated Press) The French govern
ment Is resolved to put on end to
the communist agitation in France
against the military operations in
Morocco where Riffian tribesmen
under Abd-el-Krlm have Invaded
the French protectorate.
It Is declared that the govern
ment stands ready to arrest the ac
tive communist leaders, whether
deputies or private -citizens, when
their activities endanger the se
curity of the French soldiers or
take the form of intelligence with
the enemy.
Some fifty or more arrests have
alreay been made In provincial
towns, especially garrisoned cities,
during the last ten days. Those
taken were communists engaged In
seditious talk or caught distribute
Ing propoganda tracts among the
soldiers asking them to fraternize
with the Riffians. Arrests were
made at Marseilles, Toulouse and
Montpelier.

FALLS CITY CANNERY
CONTINUES GOOD RUN
Falls City. Or., June 20. The
Falls City cannery has been run
ning nearly all the time since It
opened this spring. The goose
berry pack waa light and on ac
count of so much cloudy weather
the otrawberriee wero slow In rip
ening and the season will hold on
awhile longer. Loganberries are
beginning to ripen and several
yards will begin to pick in ebout
another week.

The Bankart defeated the Grotto
nino of the twilight league eerlcs

postponed game last night to the
tunc of 7 t 2. The game was
slow and listless. Lucas of the
Cankers made a homer in the sec
ond Inning.
The win puts the Bankers close
behind the K. C. team in second
place. The Legion nine Is heading
the league with a percentage of
1000, having won all six of their
starts. They are almost sure of
the championship as their nearest
rival has only played four games,
losing one of them.

traveling ttaia week and the paper
makers rentud the field for the
game. The game is scheduled to
start at the same time as the Sen
ators' game.
The papermakers have a fa3t
team and are hoping to take the
championship of the sundown
league. They have only lost one
game, that to the Eaglee, who are
tied with them for first place honors.
