growers, distributors and consum
ers are fixing their eyes on the
market's recent developments. Old
potatoes and new crop are very

bound shipments of new potatoes
from the Shafter, Cal. district on
account of the ravages of the tuber
moth pest. This action will do
crease the volume of California
potatoes moving to this market.
Small Initial shipments of new
potatoes from The Dalles are sell
ing at five cents a pound whole
sale.
Today's prices In the local whole
sale markots for new crop pota
toes range from 4 to five cente
a pound, a distinct rise from yes-
leruay s quotations.
Old crop potatoes are selllne- io
dealers In Portland at $3.25 to
$3.75 a hundred pounds for U. S.
No. 1 Netted Gems, classed as
standard.
