Bar tram, who was scheduled to
speak before the Salem Lions club
at Its luncheon this noon, Newell
Williams and Merrill Ohling, mem
bers of the club, gave short
speeches. Each spoke more or
less facetiously of the insurance
business, which is their occupa
tion. Ohling gave a brief history
of the development of the busi
ness, slating that' it had reached
such a point that a man can now

her marrying him. He declares
that it is an actual fact that Ban
Turpin has had his eyes insured
against their growing straight.
C. P. Giese, member of the club,
gave a short speech of a serious
nature on the flax situation. "I be
lieve this mill is a safe, sound pro
position, and I wouldn't put a dol
lar into it unless I knew what I
was talking about," he stated.
