The girl had complained that
Dr. Ball (a defense alienist) was
"sarcastlo and tarty" to her and
she did not like him.
'She later asked him how to
solve It, and he said he didn't
know."
The witness added that a week
after the murder trial had been In
progress, the girl returned to
prison saying:
"Have you heard the latest?
They're going to spring Insanity
on me."
One day. said Mrs. O'Shea. the
girl went over a newspaper story
about her mother's death and in
sisted that It was not true she had
fired two shots; she had "pulled
the trigger but once."
The witness said she was seated
by the giil last week when her
father was on the stand. At cer
tain statements the girl whis
pered:
"That's ail lies: he doesn't un
derstand the questions."
Dr. Lloyd Bryan, an X-ray ex
pert, controverting testimony by
the defenss, Bald Ihoro was noth
ing abnormal shown In X-ray
photographs of the defendant in
troduced in evidence. He testified
that there was nothing Indicating
"over development" in the fact
that the girl had an erupted wis
dom tooth at the age of 16.
