port of the association's activities
during the past year. She has
been head of the organization since

Women," all the Home-and-Mother
songs will have to be re
written. "The next generation will
remember Mother as a hustling
creature with a permanent wave

of hi humor, the philosopher does
not like the prospect. "What can

He speaks out his plain, shrewd
observations on men, women and
their relation to each other with a
clarity which will appeal to overy
one, "Those Women" Is & good
book for young people It Is a
good book for older ones too.

The arson took place at Wood
burn about two yeara ago.. Sin
clair and bis father-in-law, Arthur
D. Mason, were both Implicated.
Mason wse In Jail about three
months prior to the time set for
his trial, but before the trial
pleaded guilty and was paroled
from the bench. After his arrest
In Portland, Sinclair, under a pre
text ot going home to see his fam
ily before going to Jail, msde bis
escape and went to Ohio. lis Is
now In the Marlon county Jail and
will be tried at the next term ot

testified she had gone to the
Maharajah's court first as sing
ing girl and that later aha became
the ruler's mistress.
Her uncle testified today after
she had fled from tho court he

he was told the Maharajah want
