GET HEN TIF
Glen F. Burd. white male, of
Oregon City, is in the county Jail
here with some shot lit his head

next grand jury, all because M. C.
Davis, rancher near Wood burn, act
an alarm over his chicken coop,
and the alarm really worked. The
alarm consisted of a wire stretch
ing from the chicken coop, into
the Davis home, up to the bed
room. It has not been ascertain
ed whether Davis used the old
familiar formula of attaching the
end of the wire to his big toe, but
whether or not he did the alarm
was most effective.
Davis and other people In hit
neighborhood had been missing
thins when Davis conceived the
Idea of setting the alarm over his
chicken coop.
In tho middle of the night the
alarm warned Davis something
was doing In his henhouse. Grub
bing his shotgun he made a bee-
line for the chicken roost and
caught Burd In the act of trying
to make a getnway. Burd was t
Utile lame, but nevertheless start

ning. Davis took a couple of shots
at him and the bird shot In the
gun lodged In Burd's head and
back. Burd quit running.
Deputy Sheriff Burklmrt and
