OPENS AT SPRING VALLEY Dallas. Or., Aug. 8. With a erew of S men the planing mill of the Foster Lumber company has started operations. This mill Is lo cated at Spring Valley and was destroyed by fire some time ago. and since then the work of recon struction has been rushed as fast as possible. The work was started on the new plant July 6. The plant is equipped with three fast feed American machines, a resaw end edger and will have a running rapacity of 150,000 leet per day. The new plant is located on the site of the old one. the only part of the old equipment that was not destroyed by the tiro being the tnree holier. One of these boil ers is being used in tbe new plan lng mliL At present the Foster Lumber company has about 10 00. 000 feet of lumber In the yard and shipments to the east will be started at once. It is probable that the sawmill w ill be rebuilt, although tht com pany nas not as yet made any definite announcement to that ef feet.
