Washington, April 21. The
gross wealth produced by farmers
in 1921 had a value of $12,366,
000.000. or about two-thirds of
the aggregate value of the farm
products of 1920 and little more
than one-halt the aggregate for
1919, the department of agricul
ture estimated today. 'During the
same period, 1919-21, production
of ten crops which represent
about 95 per cent of . the total
crop acreage fell 8 per cent,
The total value of crops, the de
partment said, declined from $15,
423,000,000 In 1919 to $10,909,-
000,000 In 1920 and to $7,028,
000,000 In 1921. The decline of
the total value of animal prod
.ucts on the farm was from $8,-
881,000,000 in 1919 to $7,464,
000,000 In 1920 and to $5,339,-
000,000 in 1921.
Tour crops of 1921 together
had a value greater than one-half
of the total value of all crops for
that year. Corn was valued lit
$1,303,000,000, or 18.6 of the to
tal; hay and forage $1,165,000,-
000 or 16.6 per cent; cotton lint
and seeds $755,000,000 or 10.7
per sent; wheat $735,000,000 or
10.5 per cent, and the four crops
13,960,000,000 or 66.3 per cent.
Several groups of crops are
prominent, the department added,

today by southern leaders with the

Appeal for Food.
Washington, April 21 Appeals
for rations for families rendered
destitute by the flood were re'
celred today by the treasury from
Naples and Meredosla, Illinois.
The matter is being taken up with
the war department, officials said
as It Is expected the quartermas-
terse corps would have charge of
any distribution of government
rations In the flood areas.
