doubtedly will become permanent,
arresting moves for the vines'
destruction, has been Issued by
Mayor George E. Halvorsen, he
said this afternoon.
At Its regular meeting last Mon
day night the council adopted a
motion which had for Its purpose
the removal of the vines which
had grown on the building for
years. Members of the council
said today they originally believed
that only the dead, lifeless vines
were to be taken down.

Charles H. Bowers, for the past
two years a resident of Salem,
died at his home at 610 North
