At a meet line held last Thin-day evening, it was agreed that an additional tax levy of 10 mills will bo made Dallas city property. The city is a road district and the .proposed levy will raise aproxl matdy 110,000 which will be used oil the main roads leading out of town which are now In bad condi tion. As there is a regular tax for ilii purpose of approximately $SO0a and the county court has agreed to match the total of the two tunif, this will give Dallas in the neighborhood of $30,000 to put its county road strets in shape. The meeting in which the agree' xnent wan made to put the matte! before the people was held last Thursday evening by the directors f the Commercial club and the members of the city council. He continued to fail in spite of the careful attention paid him and passed away Sunday night. Mt. Angel Woman Passes While Away on Visit Mt. Angel, Or., Nov. 10. Mrs. Henry B. Koehler, aged 35 years, was found dead in a room at the home of her parents in Eugene yesterday morning where she had gone a few days previous to visit the home folks. Death is supposed fast she found her daughter dead. She leaves a husband, Henry B. Koehler, a merchant of this city, and a family of small children. Mr. Koehler went to Eugene on the next train out after receiving the messages. What disposition will he made of the body is not known at this time, but it is expected that her remains will be shipped here this evening and that the funeral will be held in the church Thurs day or Friday. Mrs. Koehler had lived in Mt. Angel since her childhood and was well known and highly esteemed. She was married here some years ago, and although her parents movedto Eugene she has been a oonslant resident of Mt. Angel for a number of years. .Miss Margaret Schwab left for Portland yesterday to spend a few days visiting her sister, Mrs. Neidl meycr. Lowrence Stupfel has accepted a position as sausage maker at the Mt. Angel meat market. Romeo Lais went to Portland yesterday where he will spend some time receiving instructions in the art of vulcanizing. He expects to embark in the business here soon.
