Philanthropist
Dies After Illness
Jacob H. Schiff, philantropist
and financier, who died at his
home in New York after a long
illness. Mr. Schiff was stricken
with heart disease- six months ago
from which illness he died. Mr.
Schiff was seventy-three years old
and was born in Germany. At the
time of his death he was senior
member of the banking firm of
Kuhn, Loeb & Co. His passing
was viewed as a public loss by
many distinguished men.
