Scaled proposals will be received
by the county court of Marlon coun
ty, Oregon, at the court house In Sa
lem, In said county, until June 5,
1920, at the hour of twelve o'clock
noon, of said day, for the purchase
of $170,000 permanent road bonds of
Marlon county, part of an issue of
$850,000 authorised at an election
held June 3. 1919. The bonds now of
fered for sale shall be dated June 1,
1920, and one half thereof snail ma
ture June 1, 1924, and the other halt -thereof
shall mature June 1, 1926,
and shall be In denominations of $50
or multiple thereof up to the sum of
$1000, to suit the purchaser, and shall
bear Interest at the rate of five per
cent per annum, payable semi-annually.

with their bid a certified check puy
ablo to the order of Marlon county,
Oregon, and drawn upon an Incorpo
rated bank or trust company to the
amount of two per cent of the par
value of the bonds bid for, and the
check of the successful bidder will be

from the failure of the bidder to com
