SUICIDE BY SHOOTING

Lurnett, a Juryman n the trial of
Harry E. Wootton. charged with kid
naping In connection with the BIsftee
deportations, shot and killed himself
at-his ranch nine miles northeast of
Courtland last night, according to in
formation reaching the county attor
ney's office today.
Burnett was a Juror until Tuesday,
when he appeared before Judge Sam
uel L. Pattee and attorneys for bota
sides and said he had a "confession"
to make. He said he had expressed
pinions to his brother concerning the
right or wrong of the deportation
striking copper miners and their sym
pathizers from BIsbee, but that when
be was examined and passed as a Jur
or these conversations were forgotten.
Burnett left Tombstone last night
for his ranch. It was reported that
almost immediately after his arrival
home Burnett took out a pistol and
shot himself in the head.
At the county attorney's office here
it was believed Burnett was temporar
ily insane.
