Home
You can do it
ERSILY
FATING REST
Some kind of home you'll have to
own. a humble shack of brick or
frame, or one of stucco, mud or stone.
If you would beat the landlord
game. For long sad years I paid m,
rent, and there'd be sunshine la m
soul if I now had the coin that went
to swell the landlord's gorgeous roll
The landlord owned a row of ehack.
and every month he walked abroad,
left desolation In his tracks, ana
touched each tenant for his wad, 1
muttered as I dug the dimes, coughed
up the sweat stained, hard earned
seeds. "I've bought this coop a down
times, and yet the landlord has the
deeds." And when I fell and broki
a limb, the landlord came to get the
rent;, there was no sympathy in hia
when I could not produce a cent He
said he didn't care a whoop for all
my sufferings and sores; he fired me
from that lowly coop and chased me
weeping out doors. There Is no thrift
In paying rent to landlords who have
hearts of stone; far better have a
canvas tent, and know the blamed
thing is your own. You cannot bor
row seven dimes on all the wealth
you've paid for rent; on your own
house, in crucial times, you'll get a
loan from some kind gent.

Frequent moving is a tribulation.
Frequent moving is expensive.
A renter is kept on the anxious seat.
- The'renter is at the mercy of the man of
means who can buy a home.
When he says ''GO" verily the renter goeth
in thirty days.
The experience may be repeated in a few
months, and so on.
Own your own home. You won't have ty)
move.
Be independent.
Be your own Landlord. "
A rolling stone gathers no moss.
This is Thrift Weekgood time to consider
saving.
Young man, if you are looking forward to
marriage, begin saving. The habit is a good one
and profitable. Put your savings in the bank, or
buy a good lot on installments. When paid for
you can arrange for a house, and pay for it in
installments.
The result is, that you own your own house,
and home.
Always spend a little less than you earn.
Own Your Own Home.
o
OWN YOUR OWN HOME! OWN YOUR OWN HOME!
Take stock in your Building and Loan Association. That is
another good plan towards getting a home of your own.
The writer has no brief for the Building and Loan Asso
ciations However they have been one of the bigges factors m
the Sine Tof Home owners in all countries-especially to the
working cLs and wage earners. They have hefped hundreds
of thousands in the United States to own their home.
Your children will rise and call you blessed. And there is
something due to them. They should have pleasant memories.
I remember, I remember, the house where I was born."

OWN YOUR OWN ME! OWN YOUR OWN HOME!
One of the biggest factors in the paving of the way, to own
your own home are the 7300 Building and Loan Associations
in the United States. 47 per cent more cash is paid to them than
the total capitalization of all the National Banks of the United
States.-$2,000,000,000. I
Use both. Save your money, put it at interest, then utilize
the facilities of the Building and Loan Associations, who will
advance 50 per cent of the value of the home or to build one
and you can pay it back in monthly installments.

OWN YOUR OWN HOME! OWN YOUR OWN HOME!
Benjamin Franklin said "Never buy a thing because its
cheap, if you have no use for it. That is wasteful and extra
vagance. Poor economy. Save the cents and the dollars will
take care of themselves."
To have a home of your own,' is commendable. Help to
make your city a beautiful one. Own your own home. You will
take pride in keeping it looking well. You get the benefit. Your
neighbor will be influenced most likely to do the same, and so
on The result is a better district and community. And increas
ing values. Be thrifty, put your savings in the bank, weekly or
monthly as you earn. Or buy a lot on installments, as a first
step towards the home. The lot paid for enables the building of
the nest.
Own Your Own Home.
OWN YOUR OWN HOME! OWN YOUR OWN HOME!
A lot of overhead expense the landlord experiences, YOU
PAY for is eliminated by the Home Owner such as Vacan
cies, Bad Debts, Destruction of Property, Fees Paid Agencies,
etc., because you will take better care of the property, than the
average renter.
Any stated number of Home Owners will (present and
maintain more attractive and homelike places than the same
number of Renters.
A restricted district is something of an illustration. Bet
ter surroundings prevail.
Own Your Own Home.
YOUNG MAN, OWN YOUR OWN HOME!
You are looking forward to the time you will want a home
of your own. Why not plan to have it ready to enter when
you find the right girl. Would it prejudice your chances with
the girl? Would it be a deterrent in finding just the right
one? Would she not appreciate it?-
The habit of thrift is not only commendable it is a duty l
to yourself and to those you love. Sacrifice something for them.
Don't be entirely selfish. Don't be a spendthrift, the habit of gl
loose spending is hard to break if formed. Better not begin. '
Let your saving be moderate, and reasonable, plan it, and
then stick to it. It will open the way to your owning your own
home.
