Victor P. Franklin, of Brownsville is
being held at the county jail here on
a forgery charge, having given Lee L.
Gilbert of Salem a check for $1465 in
purchasing an Elgin car Saturday.
Franklin, who claims that h Is 17
years of age, is said to have register
ed at the Capital Hotel, December 22

Franklin's alleged forgery career i
