TO UP-STATE PLANT
Two weeks of repeated mishaps In
the electrical power service in this I
ttity and adjoining towns culminated
"r this morning Just tefore noon in a
complete tie-up ol the Southern Pa
cific electric lined on tlio west sido of
the river. How long they will be tied
up cannot be stated, District Manager
TV. M. Hamilton said.
The trouble, leading up to the tio
up Just before noon, began last .night
at about 11 o'clock when a tree fell I
across the power transmission line be-
Estacada and Beaver Creek. An effort
was mado to carry .the load through
the plant at Oregon City, and this!
was running fairly good, when at
- 11:30 this morning a 1500 kilowat
. transformer in the Oregon City plant
burned out It was thought the power I
could be furnished then by direct line
from Portland, but this failed, result-
ling in the railroad tie-up. The com
pany will try to furnish light and pow
er for Salem and surrounding towns
without cutting It, but It Is not known
yet whether this will be, possible;

THE UNIVERSAL CAR
During all the years the Ford Model T One-Ton Truck has been on
the market, we have never had one complaint of rear axle trouble. We
have had no complaints of motor trouble. As the motor and the rear
axle are the vital fundamentals in a motor truck, we have the right to
conclude that the Ford One-Ton Truck has not only met the demands of
business, but has done so in a satisfactory and economic way. m '
- - 1 1
There is no other evidence so convincing as that which comes -.Trom
long practical experience. Ford One-Ton Trucks are serving along all
industrial and commercial lines. You will find them everywhere. If
these statements were not facts, the demand for the Ford One-Ton
Truck would not be as large as it is, because people are not buying
trucks which do not give service.
Coupled with the dependability of the Ford One-Ton, the truck in
all classes of usage, comes the economy in. operation and maintenance.
On the farm, in factory delivery, for. the merchant, manufacturer and
contractor, in these days of modern business methods, ' this worm
driven One-Ton Ford Truck has become a virtual necessity.
We can make prompt delivery on Ford Trucks. Don't hesitate. Place
your order TODAY, and assure yourself of a truck when you need it.
You know the condition last season. They could not be had at any
price. " "
