LIBRARY’S SUMMER BOOK
SALE IS ON
BAKER CITY — Friends of the Bak-
er County Library will hold the annual
summer book sale from July 15-24 at the
library, 2400 Resort St. The start of the
sale coincides, as usual, with Miners Jubi-
lee, with the sale open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and noon-
4 p.m. Sunday.
For the remainder of the sale, visit during
library hours: 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through
Thursday, 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-
4 p.m. Saturday and noon-4 p.m. Sunday.
ASPIRING YOUTH ARTIST
CONTEST CONTINUES TO AUG. 31
EASTERN OREGON — In celebration
of Art Center East’s 45th anniversary this
year, ACE started an annual Aspiring Youth
Artist Contest in March. This year’s con-
test is open through Wedneday, Aug. 31.
Aspiring Eastern Oregon artists ages
11-22 can submit designs for an ACE iron-
on patch. The winning design will become
the year’s featured patch and the artist will
receive an award. The iron-on patch will be
sold in the ACE Gift Gallery and online. All
proceeds from the patches go to ACE’s
Youth Scholarship Fund, which provides
youth up to 18 years of age with re-
duced-cost ACE classes and opportunities.

public. Each night, Wallowa Lake Lodge

Peace Lutheran Church is holding an out-
door song circle at 6 p.m. at the church’s
outdoor courtyard, accessible from
